Beginning May 4, San Anselmo-Fairfax Patch will be making room for local bloggers on the site.
So, right now, we're looking for passionate and engaged people, interested in getting their voices out. We're looking for bloggers who can write on various topics, share their personality and engage our readers in discussions.
Patch is more than a news site, it's an online conversation about your community.

- Are you passionate about Marin's core issues? Or, even, just one issue?
- Are you an expert craftsman or hobbyist who can share do-it-yourself tips?
- Do you have strong opinions about what the town is doing right? Or wrong? About SMART or smart meters?Â
- Can you write compellingly?
- Can you just make us all laugh?
Then, we want to hear from you.
This isn't a reporting job. It's blogging. You write what you want to say when you want to say it. Do it on your schedule, whether that's posting multiple entries per day or a couple times a month.

We don't tell you what to do or how to do it. It's all up to you.
(Except, of course, don't lie, cheat or steal. And blogging won't be done anonymously.)
Patch won't own what you post, so you can repost your entries to your other blogs. We're just providing local bloggers an online platform to have their words seen by a larger audience.
Be interesting. Be provocative. Be yourself.
As we get started with this new local voices feature, my role will simply be to review blog entries submitted to San Anselmo-Fairfax Patch to ensure quality. I may make small spelling, grammar and style changes to help your blog shine, but there will be no massive rewrites, no major changes, no worrying that your writing will get rewritten. I'll also make sure the best pieces are always featured right on our homepage -- for everyone in San Anselmo and Fairfax to see.
If this sounds like something you'd be interested in or if you want to learn more about how it could work for you, email me at kellyd@patch.com.Â
