Investigators said the homeowner interrupted a burglary in broad daylight and caught one woman, while two suspects fled across the county.
MARIN COUNTY, CA — A Lagunitas homeowner interrupted a burglary and detained one suspect Monday as two others fled across Marin County, according to the sheriff's office.
The homeowner called 911 a few minutes after noon to report a burglary on Corona Avenue. The victim told dispatchers they were able to catch one of the suspects and keep her at the home, but a second suspect escaped in a silver Ford Taurus driven by a third suspect.
While deputies were on the way to the scene, another 911 caller reported a similar vehicle driving recklessly eight miles away in San Anselmo. The Central Marin Police Authority pulled the car over on Terrace Avenue and said a man in the passenger seat escaped into a nearby neighborhood. The woman driving the car was taken into custody.
