Kids Corner: Beyond the Grave

Rudy Lee, 8, reviews 'Beyond the Grave: 39 Clues Series #4' 

The book’s main characters, Amy and Dan Cahill, are searching for 39 clues to find both the future and the past of the Cahill family. Their Grandmother, Grace Cahill, has died and left a few golden tickets, which are given to eight people at her funeral. The tickets allow them to choose between getting a million dollars or finding 39 clues that unlock the past and future of the Cahill family.

They’re in an underground tunnel which is blown up; they narrowly escape after a bomb is set off in a museum; they are cornered in the library while researching a long lost language written on a samurai sword.  

Their enemies, including the Cabras, the Holts, the Ohs, Irena Spasky and the Wizards (who are famous TV stars), are also searching for the 39 clues.

The clue in the previous book has told Amy and Dan to travel to Egypt, where they will search for the fifth clue, which is inside an Egyptian statue.

While in an Egyptian hotel, they become trapped in a room, but are rescued by their nanny Nellie and their cat Saladin. They find themselves in another hotel, where the manager gives them a package that their grandmother has sent. The package contains an Egyptian statue. Inside the statue is a note pointing them to a faraway tree. As they are heading to the tree, they are captured by their enemies, the Wizards. The Wizards leave them stranded on an island, where they are chased by a crocodile. They find a boat which they jump into and sail away to the fifth clue …
