Light-Up Lady Gaga Bra Stolen

Jim Fox hopes the only one of its kind will be returned.

In the whole world, there is only one cyber, light-up bra signed by Lady Gaga and designed by Fairfax resident Jim Fox. Unfortunately, Fox doesn't know where it is anymore.

What he calls his "most prized possession" was stolen out of a backpack at during open mic night on Aug. 29.

According to Fox, the cyber bra -- which has a number of light patterns and can be synchronized to music as can be seen in the video at right -- had just been repaired and a battery replaced when he brought it out to show off at the open mic night. He left it in his backpack on a chair and when he returned the backpack was still there but the cyber bra was gone.

Although the bra has sentimental value for Fox, who has designed the LED bras for over a decade but hasn't made one in years, this particular flashing bra was also signed by Lady Gaga after Fox met her after a show in San Francisco.

His cyber bras with dancing lights have been featured in Playboy, The New York Times, and The San Francisco Chronicle. Gaga has been interested in wearing one and Fox has also met with Beyonce's people about providing LED-light up bras and designs.

Fox designs a number of LED projects, light-up jumping suits, dog collars, and the famous bras. Fox also performs as the ukele-playing, tap-dancing Reverand Penguin Man and is working on in Fairfax.

Though there have been few leads on the stolen cyber bra, Fox hopes that after he posts posters around town and gets the word out someone will recognize it.

"I'm just hoping that someone will go 'hey, I know that bra,'" said Fox.

After all, it's one of a kind.
