Marin Beatles Event Aims To Benefit Local Youth Music Program

Proceeds from the June 11 San Rafael event will benefit Coleman Elementary School's music program in San Rafael.

SAN RAFAEL, CA — If you like the Beatles and support local youth music programs, you’ll love an event scheduled to be held in San Rafael next week.

A 40-piece The Beatles Guitar Project Rock Orchestra will perform the Rubber Soul and Revolver albums in their entirety at the June 11 event, scheduled to be held June 11 at 7 p.m. at the Marin Center’s Veterans Memorial Auditorium.

The event will feature video highlighting the life and music of the Beatles.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Coleman Elementary School of San Rafael’s music program in San Rafael.

Organizers are calling the event a “non-profit cause for celebration.”

The project is run by Sacramento Preparatory Music Academy.

“SPMA produces these complex & highly arranged Beatles Guitar Project benefit shows, in order to provide scholarship opportunities and music funding in the towns we tour in, and in our hometown of Sacramento CA,” the group said in a statement.

“There are many public schools that we partner with in order to provide Music Education to students at schools that don’t have formal music programs.”
