
SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A Marin man died from injuries suffered in a motorcycle crash over the weekend in coastal Sonoma County, The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports.
The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday confirmed his identity as Joseph Calavano, 74, of San Rafael, according to the report.
Some vegetation got caught in his front wheel causing his bike to come to sudden stop and flipping him over the bike, the report said.

Calvano was struck in the back of his head by the bike, which became airborne in the crash, according to the report.
He suffered major head trauma, the report said.

Calavano was among several hundred bikers in the Rip City Riders’ Chilly Billy Fun Run fundraiser in support of the Petaluma Fairgrounds, according to the report.
