Moms' Lives Change in 10 Years Since Sept. 11

These moms were all affected by Sept. 11, 2001.

Four of their sons enlisted in the wake of the terrorist attacks, hoping to serve their country. All their sons serve in the military. All have served in Afghanistan. Some of served in Iraq as well. 

These five woman are part of the , out of the . The group came together in September 2010 to support not just each other, but others' sons serving overseas as well. The Auxiliary Unit has worked to support the troops, sending over 500 care packages to date. (You can donate at .)

The decade since the Sept. 11 attacks has changed life drastically for these five mothers, but they're not alone.

This picture is just one of hundreds gathered at Patch sites across the country, part of a national project that will show how people's lives have changed in this last decade.

How has life changed in the last ten years for you? For others?

Things have changed, both small and large. While most of us may not see these day to day changes unless we travel to an airport, others are reminded every day about what happened ten years ago starting at 8:45 a.m. EST.
