Mom's Talk: What to Do with a Sick Kid? Or a Sick Parent?

You're a busy person. You have a schedule of soccer practices, play rehearsals, doctor appointments (if you're my mom, you have it all in color-coded dry eraser markers), not to mention you have work too!

Frequently, our busy schedules come down to carefully blocked out timetables. Anything that throws off that timetable is not welcome.

So, what do you do when illness gets in the way?

Which parent stays home? Do you hire a babysitter if neither of you can stay with a sick kid? Can you take days off of work? Drop them off with a family member?

What if -- even worse -- you get sick? Who will run the household then?

How do you deal with illness, other than by planning on never falling ill?
