Mother-daughter tensions, juveniles on a roof and other Memorial Day weekend police incidents

The San Anselmo police log for May 25-28 incudes one arrest for public intoxication.

 

Monday, May 28

Mother-daughter fight: Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 6:50 a.m. An anonymous citizen reported loud banging coming from below her. Officers made contact with a mother and daughter. The matter was verbal and was abated.

Juveniles on roof: Ross Avenue. 8:51 p.m. Caller saw two juveniles on the roof of a building. Officers responded and checked the area with negative results.

Disturbing the peace: Oak Knoll Avenue. 9:25 p.m. Caller reported a possible altercation outside of a residence. Officers responded and contacted all subjects.  The matter was abated and one subject left for the evening.

Neighbors knocking: Ross Avenue. 11:31 p.m. Caller said neighbors from next door had been knocking on her door for the last 30 minutes. She said they were now in their own backyard.  Officers responded and contacted the neighbors who advised the responsible party already left for the evening.  They were advised of the complaint.

 

Sunday, May 27

Suspicious circumstance: Butterfield Road and Woodside Drive. 3:08 a.m. Caller reported a female subject was passed out at a bus stop.  He called out to the subject and she did not respond. Officers responded and contacted a female juvenile who was transported to the police department and released to a responsible adult.

Trespassing: Center Boulevard. 7:58 a.m. Reporting person said a female subject attempted to take merchandise from the store without paying for it. The RP contacted her and retrieved the merchandise. The subject left the store. RP said he would like her no longer trespassing into the store if contacted.  Officers made contact with her and she was advised of the trespassing advisement and was moved along.

Leaf blower violation: Tamalpais Avenue. 11:14 a.m. A citizen reported a leaf blower violation. Officer responded and checked the area but couldn’t locate it.

 Disturbing the peace: Laurel Avenue. 3:53 p.m. Caller reported a domestic dispute involving a child custody. Parties were contacted and counseled.

Lost cell phone: Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Caller reported a lost cell phone and requested contact in case it was located.

Lost property: Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 5:37 p.m. Caller reported a lost wallet.

Vehicle complaint: Floribel Avenue. A citizen reported a vehicle was parked across from her address for more than a week. The vehicle was checked and determined to be on private property and was not marked for abandoned.

Suspicious person: San Anselmo Avenue. Anonymous caller reported a store clerk said someone was looking into her vehicle's windows. Caller confronted the subject, who became very defensive. Officers responded and checked the area with negative results.

Disturbing the peace: Valley Road. 11:06 p.m. Caller reported he heard a woman screaming outside of their home. RP went outside and it appeared one vehicle dropped her off and another picked her up.  Officers responded and checked the area with negative results. 

Public intoxication: Laurel Avenue. 11:58 p.m. Caller reported a man stumbling down the middle of the street while walking a dog. RP stated the subject was walking into vehicles, setting off their car alarms. A subject was contacted and arrested for public intoxication and booked into Marin County Jail. The dog was released to a neighbor.

 

Saturday, May 26

Intoxicated daughter: Red Hill Avenue. 1:58 a.m. Caller requested assistance with her intoxicated daughter who was causing a disturbance. Officer contacted both parties. The daughter advised she would go to bed for the evening.

Noise complaint: Sunnyhills Drive. 2:47 a.m. Caller reported subjects were inside of a residence being loud.  Officer contacted a responsible and advised him of the complaint.

Barking dog: Greenfield Court. 5:45 a.m. Caller reported a dog barking at the residence. Officer responded and it was quiet on arrival.

Suspicious vehicle: Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 3:52 p.m. Caller reported a vehicle had been parked at the noted location since 1 p.m. and people kept coming and going from it.  Officers responded and contacted a subject in the area who advised that subjects have come and parked their vehicle there and then gone out, but never cause a disturbance.  The area was checked on foot and no subjects were located.  No merit to any suspicious activity.

Juveniles on the roof: Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 4:11 p.m. Caller reported a group of juveniles running on the roof. Officers responded and the juveniles were not seen.  An employee was contacted who advised he did not see them. The area was checked on foot and subjects were gone on arrival.

Pain at the pump: Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. 5:28 p.m. Caller reported a customer drove off with the gas nozzle still attached to his vehicle and the nozzle broke away from the gas pump. The driver refused to give the reporting person his information and left the scene. Officer responded and made contact with the RP. The suspect was also contacted and information was exchanged.
