Police Log: A Drunk Subject Gets Lost, Racing Vehicles and Petty Theft
The San Anselmo Police reports from June 19-23 include a DUI, the theft of two bicycles from a garage and a laptop stolen from a residence.

Saturday, June 23
Vehicle complaint: Belle Avenue. 7:01 a.m. Reporting person reported a vehicle partially blocking their driveway and they needed to leave. Officer responded and determined it was legally parked and was only blocking a small portion. Contact was attempted with the owner and the RP was advised.

Bicycle theft: Barber Avenue. 12:06 p.m. Caller reported a theft of two bicycles from their garage. Officer responded and took a report.
Dogs of the ‘hood: San Francisco Blvd. 2:06 p.m. Caller reported he found two neighborhood dogs in the area. Officers responded and took them back home. A note was left for the resident.

Shoplifting: Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 2:13 p.m. Officers met with the reporting person a man who was detained for shoplifting. The subject was issued a citation for shoplifting and probation violation then released at the scene.
Screaming: Oak Avenue. 2:20 p.m. Caller reported somewhere in the area, she heard a woman's voice screaming along with two male voices which were inaudible. Officers checked the area with nothing suspicious found. No other reports were received.
Vehicle collision: Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 3:55 p.m. Caller reported his wife was rear-ended earlier and had complaint of pain to her neck. She was able to get the other party's information. Officers contacted the driver and requested a medical check out. She was released at scene and a report was taken.
Friday, June 22
Intoxicated subject: Madrone Ave. 12:12 a.m. Reporting person stated an intoxicated subject had pounded on the front door, then went around to a rear door and was in an outside laundry room. Officers responded and contacted the subject who was determined to be intoxicated and had lost his way. The subject was released to his wife.
Public intoxication: Third Street, San Rafael. 9:49 a.m. Officer advised an intoxicated male subject was in the area. The San Rafael Police Department was notified and was not able to respond at time of call. Officer arrested a man for public intoxication. Subject was taken to Marin General Hospital prior to booking due to level of alcohol and a minor injury to his mouth. Subject was later booked into Marin County Jail.
Cans of whipped cream: San Anselmo Avenue. 10:26 a.m. Reporting person said he located several empty cans of whipped cream in the area. RP advised he threw them away. Information was logged.
Reckless driving: Bella Vista Avenue. 12:58 p.m. Caller reported two vehicles were “racing” through the area. Officers checked the area and the vehicles were not located.
DUI: Sir Francis Drake Blvd. and Suffield Ave. 11:13 p.m. Pursuant to a traffic stop, a female subject was determined to be driving while intoxicated. Subject was arrested and transported to Marin County Jail. The vehicle was left legally parked and humane responded and took custody of the subject’s dog.
Thursday, June 21
Dog running loose: San Anselmo Avenue. 9:38 a.m. Officer advised he located a dog running loose. The owner was located and advised of the ordinance. The dog was leashed and matter resolved
Suspicious circumstances: Alderney Road. 10:01 a.m. Caller reported that she received a phone call from a subject claiming to be her grandson and that he needed money. Extra patrol was requested for the residence and advice was provided.
Suspicious person: Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 10:15 a.m. Caller reported a subject made threats toward him. Officers responded and contacted the subject. The subject was admonished regarding his behavior and moved along.
Disturbing the peace: Broadmoor Avenue and Meadowcroft Drive. 10:46 p.m. Caller reported a loud group of male subjects walking in the area with a vehicle following them. Officers responded and determined the group was moving a vehicle closer to one of the subject’s residence. They were advised of the complaint. Disposition: Matter or Reported Situation Checks Ok.
Wednesday, June 20
Suspicious circumstances: Broadmoor Avenue. 3:14 a.m. Caller reported she went into her kitchen and saw her garage lights were on. Officers responded and checked the perimeter of the house and the garage, which were found clear. Unknown what caused the light to turn back on. RP was advised to call if it occurred again.
Bicycle enforcement: San Anselmo Avenue and Scenic Avenue. 11:06 a.m. Officer provided bicycle enforcement of the area and no violations were noted.
Vehicle vs. hillside: Redwood Road. 2:58 p.m. Caller reported a vehicle collided into the hillside and the driver was seen in the area. Officer responded, but was unable to locate the vehicle or facilitate an exchange of information.
Petty theft: Sais Avenue. 4:29 p.m. Caller reported a laptop computer was stolen from his residence. Officer responded and took a report
Barking dog: Woodside Drive. 6:20 p.m. Caller reported a dog was barking at the residence and that it has been an ongoing problem. Caller advised he wanted to sign a Citizen’s Arrest. Officer responded and both parties were contacted. The RP chose not to sign a Citizen’s Arrest. Advice was provided.
Peeping neighbor: Tomahawk Drive. 7:45 p.m. Caller reported her neighbor was peeping into her bedroom and was on the property. Officers responded and contacted all parties.
Tuesday, June 19
Suspicious circumstance: Lincoln Park. 1:57 a.m. Caller reported she heard a possible gunshot followed by a male voice saying "oh." Officers responded and located a large branch that fell into the creek. Nobody was located in the creek.
Petty theft: Veterans Place. 8:34 a.m. Caller reported another person witnessed a man pulling plants from someone else’s garden. Officers responded and attempted contact with the subject, with negative results. Contact would be attempted with the actual witness.
Suspicious circumstances: Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 11:15 a.m. A citizen reported a man was passed out in his vehicle while it was running. Officers responded and contacted the subject who was asleep during his lunch break.
Leafs blown onto vehicle: Brookside Drive. 4:41 p.m. Anonymous caller reported a leaf blower blew leaves on his vehicle. Unit checked the area but couldn’t locate the responsible.
Animal complaint: Crescent Road. 5:24 p.m. A citizen reported dogs off leash in the park. Officer contacted the responsible and advised her of the ordinance.
Vehicle complaint: Suffield Avenue and Butterfield Road. 7:34 p.m. Anonymous caller reported a male driver was speeding up and down the street on a motorcycle. Officer responded and checked the area with negative results. Disposition: Unable to Locate.
