Police Log: Possible Mountain Lion Sighting Yesterday in San Anselmo

Wednesday, May 30

Possible mountain lion: Magnolia Avenue. 12:34 a.m. Caller reported a possible mountain lion in a backyard. Officer checked the area and the animal was not located.

Burglary: San Anselmo Avenue. 12:57 a.m. An alarm company reported an audible alarm at a business. Officers responded and located a smashed window. The building was cleared and loss was noted. A responsible was contacted and responded to the scene. A report was taken.

: Pine Street. 3:03 p.m. Caller said she received several harassing phone calls from an unknown male subject and during the final phone call, the subject stated a bomb had been placed inside of the building. The building and surrounding areas were evacuated and a search for the alleged bomb was conducted. No device was found. A report was taken.

Firework sounds: Vine Avenue and Melville Avenue. 5:15 p.m. Caller reported fireworks were heard in the area. Officers checked the area checked and it was quiet on arrival. Several residents located in the area advised they had not heard anything. 

Brick toss: Grove Hill Avenue North. 5:45 p.m. Caller reported her neighbor threw a brick toward her residence. Officer responded and was unable to make contact with the reporting person.

Stolen bike: Sir Francis Drake Blvd. 7:10 p.m. Reporting person’s bicycle was taken.

: Greenfield Avenue and Lincoln Park. 7:25 p.m. Caller reported her son and his friend were walking home and a female driver pulled up to them and told them to get into the car.  The two boys continued walking home and the female driver came back to them and told the boys “You’re guilty. You’re delusional. Get in the car.” Officers responded to the residence, the area was checked and a report was taken.

 

Tuesday, May 29

Barking dog: Oak Knoll Avenue. 12:05 a.m. Anonymous caller reported a barking dog. Officers checked the residence and a note was left for a resident advising them of the complaint. An incident report was taken for documentation.

Unwanted subject: Oak Knoll Avenue. 1:18 p.m. Caller reported her son was at the residence but wasn’t welcome there. Officers responded and contacted both parties.  The son would be staying at a friend’s house.

Enforcement for speeders: Ross Avenue. 2:10 p.m. Caller requested extra traffic enforcement for speeders in the morning.

Suspicious person: San Anselmo Avenue. 3:38 p.m. Caller reported a female subject walked into her house, into the backyard, then across to the neighbor's front door and then into traffic. Officers responded and contacted her and found she was ok. Subject was abated from the area.
