Poll: Who Should Replace Supervisor Hal Brown?
A wealth of candidates come forward to fill the retiring supervisors seat.

As long-time , he’s throwing his support behind aide Katie Rice to replace him.
“She knows the district well. She knows the people. She knows the issues second to none. She’s extremely knowledgeable and smart,” said Brown.
Rice, 51, of Sleepy Hollow, has worked as Brown’s aide at the Civic Center for eight years, she said, and is familiar with the issues and values that Brown was elected on.
“He asked me and I said yes,” she said. “I think I’m as familiar as one can be with the issues and concerns of District 2 and the county.”’

But, both Rice and Brown pointed out that the supervisor’s recommendation certainly doesn’t mean she has the job.
The final decision will be Gov. Jerry Browns. The governor will appoint someone to finish out the supervisor’s term through December 2012. And he has a wide range of Marin politicos to pick from.

Among them, according to the Marin Independent Journal, is Fairfax Councilman David Weinsoff, who also said he will run for the seat next June, former Larkspur Councilwoman Joan Lubamersky, former San Anselmo Councilman Peter Breen, Larkspur Councilman Dan Hillmer, and Ross Town Councilman Scot Hunter.
Reportedly, former Fairfax Councilman Frank Egger is leaving the door open as a possible candidate and former San Anselmo Paul Chignell has said he will not apply for the seat but may run in 2012.
