'Put Some Play in Your Day'

Congratulations go out to Drake junior Scott Young, who won the San Anselmo Recreation Department's tagline contest to come up with a new motto for the recreation department.

Scott's award-winning maxim, which will now cover recreation brochures: Put some play in your day!

The San Anselmo Town Council recognized Scott at its Jan. 11 meeting for his winning entry. Over 30 entries were submitted to come up with a new town recreation tagline and were judged by the staff and the parks and recreation commission. Scott won a certificate of appreciation and a gift certificate to recreation programs.

Scott, who also plays waterpolo at Drake, scuba dives, and recently got his lifeguard certification, said the new motto "just came to him" as he thought back on his childhood taking classes and playing sports at the recreation department.

Community Services Director Dave Donery said it was great to get an entry from a local student, particularly one who also volunteers with programs in the department.

"You're an amazing young man," said Donery to Scott.
