San Anselmo Mulls Gas Leaf Blower Ban

The Town Council on Sept. 14 will review a draft ordinance that would ban the use of all gas-powered leaf blowers.

SAN ANSELMO, CA — The town of San Anselmo is considering banning gas leaf blowers.

The Town Council on Sept. 14 will review a draft ordinance that would ban the use of all gas-powered leaf blowers within the town limits.

The council will also consider implementing a rebate program that would provide partial funds for the purchase of an electric leaf blower in exchange for a gas blower.

If the ordinance is approved, the gas leaf blowers will be decommissioned, recycled and disposed of through a partnership with Marin Sanitary.

The council will also consider the hours of allowable operation of leaf blowers at the Sept. 14 meeting.
