San Anselmo Police: Residential Burglaries, Men Protesting

The following is a partial report of activites from thefrom Nov. 7 to 10. The information is public and can be seen on the police department's website.

Thursday, Nov. 10

Suspicious Person: A man was on San Anselmo Avenue yelling at a resident at 2:07 p.m. and left on a bike.

Suspicious Circumstances: A subject was soliciting and a resident thought he may have come onto her property without her permission.

Disturbing the Peace: There was an altercation with an elderly male subject, who requested a resident move his car on Crescent Road at 3:21 p.m.

Burglary: A home was broke into and laptop stolen on Sheila Court.

Burglary: A resident found the door and windows open at her apartment on Sais Avenue and found items were stolen.

Disturbing the Peace: There was a physical altercation on Oak Knoll Avenue at 6:49 p.m. Parties were separated.

Suspicious Circumstances: A bathroom window screen had been torn open and it appeared that someone attempted to enter an apartment on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 6:50 p.m.

Stolen Vehicle: A car was stolen on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard.

Wednesday, Nov. 9

Barking Dog: There was a dog barking on Oakland Avenue at 9:53 a.m.

Petty Theft: A wristwatch was stolen from a bike sometime the week before.

Barking Dog: A dog was barking on Laurel Avenue.

Hit and Run: There was a collision at Pine Street and San Anselmo Avenue at 2:34 p.m.

Suspicious Person: There was a suspicious person at Memorial Park at 3:14 p.m.

Noise: There was a loud compressor on Oak Knoll Avenue at 8:20 p.m.

Possession of Stolen Property: Officers contacted a man near the Library, who was determined to be in possession of stolen property at 9:31 p.m. He was arrested and booked, along with charges of violating his probation.

Tuesday, Nov. 8

Suspicious Circumstances: There was a possible break-in to a residence on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard a few days earlier.

Unwanted Subject: Two men were protesting and yelling at people walking by on San Anselmo Avenue at 12:14 p.m. Officers contacted two subjects, who were not blocking the door or causing problems.

Barking Dog: A resident reported dogs barking on Laurel Avenue and requested a contact, but officers found it quiet on arrival.

Suspicious Person: A well-dressed man was claiming to be from AT&T and holding a clipboard on Elm Avenue at 3:03 p.m.

Warrant: Two solicitors were abated from a property on Center Boulevard at 3:38 p.m. One of the subjects was found to have an outstanding warrant out of Santa Clara County and was booked into Marin County jail without incident.

Public Works: Someone dumped a refrigerator on San Anselmo Avenue.

Suspicious Circumstances: A resident reported noticing a man alongside her house on Redwood Road earlier in the day and assumed it was PG&E checking the meter, but she wasn’t sure.

Driving without a License: At Fourth Street and Ross Valley Drive at 9:26 p.m., an officer determined a driver was driving while unlicensed. He was cited and given a verbal notice for a prior suspension. His car was left legally parked

Suspicious Circumstances: A resident reported her neighbor came up to her door and did something to it on San Anselmo Avenue, but she was afraid to go out and look at 10:38 p.m. Officers noted the other party left a note on the resident’s door.

Monday, Nov. 7

Hazard: Ivy was overgrown in the intersection of Center Boulevard and Saunders Avenue at 7:19 a.m. and cyclists were forced to ride out into the road. Officers noted there was bamboo protruding into the road.

Accident – No Injury: There was a non-injury collision on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 9:26 a.m.

Burglary: There was a burglary to a business on Tunstead Avenue.

Suspicious Person: A man was dragging a suitcase down San Francisco Boulevard and trying to open car doors at 11:27 a.m. Officers contacted the subject and determined he was walking to his residence on the street.

Solicitor: A solicitor appeared to be posing as an employee from a company on Tamalpais Avenue at 5:48 p.m. Officers determined he was a legitimate employee of the company.

Public Intoxication: A resident could hear a heated argument between a man and woman on Red Hill Avenue at 8:32 p.m. Officers separated parties and a man was arrested and booked into the county jail for public intoxication.
