What's Open on Labor Day

Most things are closed for the national holiday.

When the first Labor Day was celebrated in 1885 it was supported by the labor unions to give working stiffs the day off. It is fitting then that most things are closed as employees head home for the long weekend that marks the end of summer.

Schools: All schools, and all Ross Valley private schools are closed.

Government Offices: Both Fairfax and San Anselmo Town offices are closed. The police are, of course, still working.
