Woman Stabbed with Scissors Was Assaulted by Boyfriend Police Determined
Sheriff officers able to confirm woman was stabbed by boyfriend this past weekend.
Marin County Sheriff Officers have confirmed that a woman who was stabbed with a pair of scissors in unincorporated Fairfax this past Sunday, Feb. 20, was attacked by her boyfriend.
On Feb. 20 at 12:14 p.m., sheriff deputies were called to Buena Vista Avenue in unincorporated Fairfax where a woman had been stabbed in the neck with a pair of scissors. She, reportedly, was stabbed in the neck with the scissors while in a pickup truck with the assailant, but ran with her three-year-old child to a nearby house for assistance.
When officers arrived, assisted by the Fairfax Police Department, the suspect fled the scene in the pickup truck. The truck was stopped about 10 minutes later by a San Anselmo officer at Red Hill and Sequoia Avenues, following a bulletin sent out to surrounding law enforcement agencies.

Carlos Lopez-Lopez, 24, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, endangerment of a child, and battery on a co-habitant. He is currently being held at the county jail on a $150,000 bail and an immigration hold.
Lopez-Lopez, a San Rafael resident, was the victim's boyfriend, but according to Lt. Barry Heying, no reason for the attack had been determined. All interviews with both the woman stabbed in the neck and with the suspect had be conducted with the aid of a translator.

The woman and her child were transported to Marin General and released after treatment.
