Crestmoor Elementary in Danger Again

With the school district in a tough spot financially, one of the local schools could be a casualty.

Although the school was saved from closure last April, Crestmoor Elementary School is once again in danger of shutting its doors for good.

The San Bruno School District Board of Trustees is set to meet Wednesday at 7 p.m. 500 Acacia Ave., where school consolidation will be among the major topics.

"The concern is that if...school consolidation is not used to reduce the structural deficit, then what are the other possibilities," the Board agenda packet says.

According to the Mercury News, Superintendent David Hutt has re-introduced the idea of closing the school at the end of the school year, with students then being moved to Rollingwood Elementary.

, could have raised around $10 million for the district. Had it passed, elimination of Crestwood may not have been on the table yet again this year.
