For 2nd Anniversary of San Bruno Fire, Neighbors Share Moment of Silence

At the same time that a PG&E pipeline exploded in the Crestmoor neighborhood two years ago Sunday, residents organized an impromptu gathering to remember the neighbors they lost in the disaster.

Eight people were left dead and 38 homes were destroyed after the Sept. 9, 2010, fire.

After city officials led an event at City Park to commemorate the second anniversary of the fire—in which they dedicated a plaque on the new memorial recognition sculpture to the Crestmoor residents who died in the fire—a small group of residents from the neighborhood went back up near the explosion site to hold a moment of silence and reflect on how far they've come.

In this video, one of the residents reflects on what it's been like for him two years after the pipeline explosion.
