Man Reunited With Stolen Dog, Truck In San Bruno

'Tucks' the border collie was stolen along with the man's truck when he ran inside a local store this week, police said.

SAN BRUNO, CA — A man was reunited with his border collie this week after the dog and the man's truck were stolen from a 7-Eleven in San Bruno on Monday.

On Monday at 6:15 a.m., officers with the San Bruno Police Department responded to the 7-Eleven convenience store at the corner of Angus and Huntington avenues on a report of a stolen vehicle.

The victim told police he left his white Ford F-150 pickup truck running while he went inside the store. The victim's dog, a 3-year-old border collie named Tucks, was also inside the truck.

While the victim was in the store, a suspect entered the truck and drove away, police said.

Both the truck and the Tucks were located later that day in a parking lot on Sylvan Avenue, and Tucks was safely returned to his owner. Police said they were able to identify John McCormack, 55, as the suspect involved in the theft, and he was taken into custody on Tuesday.

McCormack was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft.
