Hourslong Standoff Ends With Burglar Detained: San Bruno Police

No one was injured, but the standoff lasted several hours, police said.

SAN BRUNO, CA — A burglary at a home in San Bruno resulted in an hourslong standoff Sunday, according to police, who said authorities eventually detained the interloper.

Officers responded just before 6 a.m. to a burglary in progress in the area of Poplar and Jenevein avenues, police said. They evacuated the residents and contained the burglar inside the home, according to police.

After a standoff lasting several hours, the burglar complied with officers and was detained, police said, adding no one was injured.
