Police Launch New Communication System In This San Mateo County Town

Residents can receive more comprehensive information regarding case status and emergency calls.

SAN BRUNO, CA — The police department announced on Monday in San Bruno that they have launched a new communication system designed to keep locals better updated after contacting for emergency or nonemergency services.

The San Bruno Police Department said through the new Versaterm CommunityConnect system, callers and victims of a crime can now receive:

  • A text or email acknowledging their call for service.
  • Automated updates if an officer is delayed due to higher-priority calls or heavy call volume.
  • Notifications on the status of a case, including when it’s reviewed, if an arrest is made or if the case is closed.
  • Short, mobile-friendly surveys after an interaction with our staff.
  • The option to opt in for ongoing community engagement messages, such as crime prevention tips, safety updates and event information.
