Police Log: 'Italian Guys' Deceive Resident in Possible Scam

The following information was supplied by the San Bruno Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday

12:02 a.m. A home on the 700 block of Green Avenue was burglarized and $300 were stolen.

4:25 a.m. A 1986 red Saturn sedan was stolen on the 800 block of Fourth Avenue.

6:24 a.m. An injury-involved hit-and-run accident occurred on the 800 block of Bayhill Drive.

9:53 a.m. Someone fraudulently opened 12 accounts using a resident's identity.

11:35 a.m. A black Ford Ranger was burglarized on the 1800 block of Santa Lucia Avenue.

8:04 p.m. Police responded to a fire reported on the 1000 block of Cherry Avenue. It turned out to be a small stove fire, and firefighters extinguished it.

Friday

7:27 p.m. Police received a report about an assault with a deadly weapon on the 1600 block of Crestmoor Drive.

9:15 p.m. Someone was possibly injured after a vehicle struck a pedestrian near Amador Avenue and Del Norte Drive.

Saturday

2:51 a.m. A drunk driver was reported on the 400 block of Third Avenue.

7:57 a.m. Police were called about a possible scam in which a resident bought some jackets from two "Italian guys" who said they needed money to get back to Italy on the 400 block of El Camino Real. The resident said the men appeared to be lying.

Sometime before 11:05 p.m., a drunk driver was spotted near College Drive and Sharp Park Road.

Sunday

5:38 p.m. Graffiti was spotted on some doors near a parking lot on the 500 block of El Camino Real.

Sometime before 7:09 p.m., an Acura Integra was stolen on the 1100 block of El Camino Real.
