San Bruno Ghost Gun Recovered: Police
After a brief vehicle pursuit, officers in San Bruno recovered a self-made semi-automatic pistol that was tossed out of a moving car.

SAN BRUNO, CA — A "ghost gun" that was thrown out of a moving vehicle was recovered in San Mateo County on Saturday.
Officers attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation in San Bruno when one of the occupants of the car threw an object out of the window, according to the Officer Robert Chapman of the San Bruno Police Department.
The driver then fled from police at a high rate of speed. Officers briefly chased the vehicle before ending the pursuit for safety reasons, police said.

Police found a loaded, semi-automatic pistol in the area, which was tossed from the vehicle. Upon further examination, police determined that the firearm was a self-made "ghost gun."
Ghost guns are unregulated firearms, which can be built and bought without a background check.
