San Bruno Police Log, Aug. 19-22: Rude Salespeople, Man Screaming 'Nonsense,' and Fight Over Swings at Kiddie Park

A sampling of incidents reported to the San Bruno Police from Aug. 19-22.

Aug. 19

7:11am. A Crystal Springs Terrace Apartments resident reported to police that an unknown person opened a credit card with the resident's information and used the card. The resident later cancelled the card.

2:20pm. A caller reported that two men were going store to store at the Bayhill Shopping Center trying to sell electric razors and cell phones. Someone asked them to leave, but the men became very rude.

3:15pm. A resident on the 2900 block of Evergreen Drive reported a possible incident of grand theft. The person said some aluminum had been stolen from the driveway.

5:53pm. Police responded to a report of a juvenile pointing a gun at another juvenile near the intersection of El Camino Real and Santa Lucia Avenue.

Aug. 21

1:11am. A caller reported a 25-year-old man was running and "screaming nonsense" on Jenevein Avenue.

11:23am. A person on the 100 block of Castleton Way reported an incident of possible identity theft. The person said he received numerous bills for magazine subscriptions that he never opened.

1:36pm. Someone on the 600 block of Cedar Avenue called police claiming that $300 was stolen from her checking account, and that she didn't know how the money was taken.

2:34pm. Police responded to the main playground at City Park where an argument was ensuing over the age of someone riding one of the swings. There was a language barrier between the involved parties.

6:26pm. Someone called the police about a gray Chevy Avalanche that was reportedly parked too far from the curb on the 100 block of Darby Place. The caller said it was a problem to have the truck stick out that far in the street.

11:18pm. Police responded to a call about illegal fireworks. Cherry bombs had reportedly been set off on Angus Avenue.

2:26pm. Police were called out to the 400 block of El Camino Real because a man had been passed out on a bench. Responding officers reported that the man kept falling off the bench when they tried to help him up.

Aug. 22

2:14am. A caller reported hearing 12 gunshots fired in the area of Sixth and San Bruno avenues.

6:34am. Police responded to a report of a suspicious-looking 5-gallon white bucket with its lid taped shut found on Glenview Drive near Ridgeway Avenue.
