San Bruno Police Log, Sept. 2-Sept. 5: Suspicious Man Snooping Around Allen Elementary, People Busting Up Furniture at Starbucks, and Neighbor Firing Off M-80s

A sampling of incidents reported to the San Bruno Police from Sept. 2-Sept. 5.

Sept. 2

9:14am. Someone reported that his green backpack, which had a laptop and clothing in it, was stolen from his vehicle on the 900 block of El Camino Real.

9:20am. Police responded to a report of a fight in Building 1 at Skyline College involving two male students.

11:19am. Police were called about a suspicious-looking elderly man with long hair who had reportedly been coming daily to Allen Elementary School during the lunch hour.

Between 5:15 and 5:35pm, someone reported a bicycle had been stolen from the Sears store at The Shops at Tanforan.

5:36pm. Someone reported a black BlackBerry Curve had been stolen on the 1000 block of Bayhill Drive.

Sept. 3

8:35am. Someone reported that two vehicles had been broken into overnight on the 3800 block of Susan Drive. It was later reported that a rear window of one of the vehicles had been broken and that a stereo had been taken.

7:53pm. A caller reported that someone was breaking windows with an unidentified object on the 400 block of San Anselmo Avenue North.

Sept. 4 

5:28pm. Someone reported that a man walked out of a store on the 800 block of Cherry Avenue with a PlayStation 3 without paying for it. The estimated loss was valued at $300.

10:26pm. A caller reported that seven people were chasing a girl down Easton Avenue toward Angus Avenue. According to police, the incident involved a possible parole or probation violation.

11:32pm. Someone reported that a Chevy Cobalt on the 1100 block of El Camino Real had one of its windows smashed. Nothing was taken.

Sept. 5 

4:46am. Police responded to two people breaking up furniture inside one of the Starbucks stores. One of the suspects was armed with a stick and acting mentally disturbed, according to police.

12:51pm. A caller reported a case of identity theft on the 400 block of Milton Avenue, claiming an unknown person was reportedly using the caller's name and social security number to open a bank account online with Chase Bank.

3:02pm. A caller reported that several people allegedly stole four patio chairs worth an estimated $350 on the 1700 block of El Camino Real.

4:13pm. Someone reported a case of identity theft on the 1100 block of El Camino Real. The loss was estimated at $360 and police arrested a suspect.

11:11pm. Police responded to several calls reporting that someone was lighting up M-80s in a backyard of a home possibly on Fifth Avenue. Police received several more calls later from people who were upset that officers hadn't stopped or located the activity, which had been occurring for over an hour.
