The good news started on Friday, when JACC announced its state publication awards. Former editor-in-chief John Harrison won a second place for The Skyline View podcast. Former opinions editor Marco Milani clinched a first place for photo illustration while former staff writer Phil Ho earned a fourth place for profile feature story. Current editor-in-chief Steven Rissotto—who also served as the NorCal student representative on JACC’s board until his one-year term ended Saturday—picked up an honorable mention in profile feature story.

Current opinions editor Zachary Navarra did what he does best and earned a second place in opinion story. The good fortune continued to new managers, sports editor Izzy Herrera (who also serves as Honor Society’s club president) and digital editor Adriana Hernandez, with the former earning an honorable mention for informational graphic and the latter getting an honorable mention for feature story.
