Truck Hits Crossing Gate in San Bruno, Slows Caltrain Service

The accident was the cause of delayed Caltrain service this morning. Normal service has since resumed.

Caltrain service was delayed this morning after a truck hit a crossing gate along the tracks in San Bruno, a Caltrain spokeswoman said.

The truck hit and damaged the gate at San Bruno Avenue at 6:53 a.m., and spokeswoman Christine Dunn said that forced trains to travel through the crossing at reduced speeds until the gate could be repaired.

Crews fixed the gate shortly after 8:30 a.m., she said, and normal service resumed.

Several southbound trains were affected, including trains No. 210, 216, 312 and 314, Dunn said.

A Tweet sent out by the official Caltrain Twitter account, @Caltrain_News, which Dunn said was launched this week, the gate "took longer to repair than we had hoped."
