Burglary, Credit Card Fraud Linked To San Mateo Man: Sheriff's

San Mateo County Sheriff's deputies claim the suspect used the victim's credit cards after breaking into the car.

SAN CARLOS, CA -- A burglary-turned-credit-card-caper landed a San Mateo man in jail on suspicion of grand and identity theft as well as vehicle tampering, San Mateo County Sheriff's officials announced Wednesday.

Sheriff's deputies investigated a vehicle burglary in San Carlos on Jan. 19 and discovered the victim's stolen credit cards were used for fraudulent purchases. Deputies later identified Gabriel Cole Clancyclavere, 22, of San Mateo, as the suspect and issued a $20,000 warrant for his arrest.

Sheriff’s Deputies and Crime Suppression Unit Detectives located Clancyclavere at his girlfriend’s residence in unincorporated San Mateo County and booked him into the Maguire Correctional Facility on Tuesday.
