Man Pulls Out Knife At Bay Area Taco Bell In Attempted Robbery: Police

Police received reports of the incident Monday afternoon.

SAN CARLOS, CA — An East Palo Alto-man pulled a knife and attempted to rob a man Monday in front of a Taco Bell in San Carlos, police said.

San Mateo County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Alexis Rincon, of East Palo Alto, Monday and he was booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility on charges of attempted second degree robbery, brandishing a deadly weapon and a probation violation, police said.

At around 3:30 p.m. on Monday, SMC sheriff’s deputies assigned to the San Carlos Bureau responded to the 200 block of El Camino Real after receiving a report of an attempted robbery, police said.

An adult man told police he was outside of the Taco Bell when a stranger approached him and demanded to see his belongings, police said. The man said he refused and the stranger pulled a knife out, police said.

Deputies said they located Rincon a short distance away and took him into custody.

No injuries were reported and the police said they are investigating this as an isolated incident.
