• Large Affordable Housing Project In San Carlos Moves Forward As Developer Chosen (patch.com) — San Carlos residents can expect at least 75 new affordable homes as MidPen Housing moves ahead with designing a community on three county-owned parcels on Walnut Street near downtown. The project, a partnership between San Carlos and San Mateo County, will target low- to moderate-income households and launch community engagement in 2026 to shape the final design and approvals.
   

• Over 400 Vehicles Screened During DUI Checkpoint In San Carlos (patch.com) — A weekend DUI checkpoint on San Carlos Avenue screened 458 vehicles in San Carlos, resulting in no impaired driving arrests but several citations for license violations and one vehicle impound. The sheriff’s office is using the results to reinforce its reminder for residents to plan safe rides and avoid driving under the influence.
