San Carlos Jewelry Heist Leads To Arrest
Investigators allege three suspects stole jewelry worth tens of thousands of dollars during a robbery in broad daylight.

SAN CARLOS, CA — Peninsula authorities have arrested an 18-year-old from Oakland accused of participating in a brazen jewelry robbery in San Carlos five months ago.
According to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office, the investigation began in September when deputies fielded a robbery call at the Home Consignment Center on Industrial Road.
Investigators learned three suspects smashed the door of the store during business hours and sprinted to the jewelry department, where they used hammers to break glass cases and steal an estimated $56,000 in jewelry.

Officials said the months-long investigation helped them identify one of the suspects as Tyrone Hill, 18, of Oakland. Detectives worked with the U.S. Marshals to arrest Hill this week, and investigators said a search warrant uncovered evidence linking him to the San Carlos robbery.
He was booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility on suspicion of robbery, burglary and grand theft.
