Dear SCSD Community,

The County Health Officer posted another statement yesterday, March 23. I suggest you read it. Dr. Morrow strongly encourages community members to stay in their homes with your own family unit, stay in your own neighborhood, and vigilantly minimize person-to-person contact outside of the home. The statement also encourages volunteering and donating to help address the hardships caused by the coronavirus outbreak.
Many of you have shared with me that you are observing students and young adults playing basketball on our campuses, playing on the play structures, and seeing school-age children playing with their friends and not practicing social distancing. This is very concerning to me and I ask that everyone do their part to minimize the spread or the virus. This graphic shows the math behind social distancing. Our parents and community members are asking me to strongly encourage parents to follow the orders to stay at home when possible and to prevent children and young adults from socializing and playing with people outside of their own family unit during this crisis.
