Schools and Cops Team Up for Safety
Find out what's being done to ensure school safety at a special meeting on Monday at the San Carlos Library.
The San Carlos School District and the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office are teaming up to engage the San Carlos community in a presentation and discussion on school and youth safety. The Community Safety Forum will take place Monday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. in the San Carlos Library Community Room (second floor).
According to the Sheriff's Office, the San Carlos School District initiated the meeting as a proactive communication strategy designed to educate parents about all that has been done and will be done to ensure child safety at school and at home.
Topics to be discussed include school security, dealing with active intruders at schools, cyber safety for children, and traffic safety.
Sheriff's Office personnel, school counselors, and school officials will be on hand to make presentations, answer questions, and address concerns.
In a statement released this week, the Sheriff's office says, "The school district and the Sheriff's Office have formed a strong partnership over the years focused on keeping children safe. As we grow and evolve in this effort, we welcome your questions, comments and suggestions. We look forward to your participation in this important discussion and hope to see you at the meeting."
