• Lasuen Beach Trail Closed After Landslide Near Calafia (picketfencemedia.com) — A landslide along San Clemente’s coastline has closed part of the Beach Trail near Lasuen Beach and prompted temporary rail disruptions between San Clemente and Oceanside, though trains are currently running. City crews and OCFA teams are assessing bluff stability below Leslie Park, and the trail will stay closed until the hillside is declared safe. Residents who rely on the trail should expect continued access limits and watch for updates.
   

• Should common route over tracks, down ‘goat path' be addressed ahead of LA28 surfing at Lower Trestles? (dailynews.com) — Safety concerns over the steep “goat path” and illegal railroad crossing to reach Lower Trestles, just south of San Clemente, are drawing new scrutiny ahead of LA28 Olympic surfing. State Parks and local advocates are revisiting long-discussed boardwalk and crossing ideas to improve access while protecting wetlands and managing big crowds expected at this world‑class break.
