Community Pres to Celebrate 95 Years in San Juan with Acts of Service

They're inviting you to join in.

From a press release:

Community Presbyterian Church of San Juan Capistrano, the oldest Protestant church in South Orange County (established in 1919), is acknowledging its anniversary this fall by hosting a “Celebration of Service - 95 years of making a difference in the Capistrano Valley” on the afternoon of Saturday, Nov 1.

The purpose of this celebration is to honor the congregation’s historical involvement with the local community, and to encourage others to join in the opportunity to serve and to continue “making a difference.”

This celebration will recognize some of the organizations CPC has partnered with and supported over the years (Habitat for Humanity, Family Assistance Ministries, iHOPE), as well as impending new service relationships (CREER, The Ecology Center, …) with brief presentations – all surrounded by music from the “Make A Difference” band and the CPC Preschool and Children’s Choir, a colorful slide show, and other pertinent information succinctly presented in the CPC Sanctuary in about 45 minutes.

And because continuing involvement is central to our future, several new opportunities for service in our local community will also then be shared in the CPC Fellowship Hall, and their representatives will also be present to describe their programs, where there will (of course) be refreshments and more music, and you will be able to follow up with the presenters about how to support and participate in their missions.

We hope that those attending will be encouraged to consider their own involvement, and ask themselves:

  • What am I about?
  • How can I make a difference?
  • What opportunities are there for me to serve?

Will you set aside a brief time on Saturday, Nov. 1 to bring your entire family and join us in celebrating our community?
