Heat, Rain And Monsoon Weather In San Juan Capistrano Wednesday

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — With the longest day of the year landing on Monday, summer is now swinging into full gear.

High humidity and 90-degree temperatures are on the forecast for San Juan Capistrano Wednesday, with a 40 percent chance of rain hitting the SoCal region Wednesday.

Residents will see clouds rolling in come Tuesday night and may experience thunderstorms Wednesday morning, according to Accuweather. Early Wednesday afternoon, residents can expect clouds giving way and temperatures rising.

"Isolated showers/t-storms may develop as early as tonight, though the highest chances will likely occur Wednesday afternoon across the mountains and deserts," National Weather Service San Diego said. "Lightning, gusty winds and brief heavy rainfall will be the main threats."

Rainfall amounts will likely add up to less of a tenth of an inch unless a thunderstorm occurs, according to the National Weather Service.

Orange County forecasts also call for 90-degree temperatures, according to the National Weather Service. With temperatures soaring, the service asked residents to keep the following in mind to stay safe in hot conditions:

• Limit outdoor activities & take breaks in shade.
• Stay hydrated and avoid caffeine and alcohol.
• Wear lightweight clothing and sunscreen.
• Check on pets and loved ones.

The National Weather Service also advised residents to stay cautious if a thunderstorm occurs.

"With thunderstorm activity possible this week, it is important to remember that lightning can be dangerous," The service said. "If you hear thunder, you are close enough to get struck by lightning. Seek shelter when thunderstorms develop in your area."
