• Irvine council changes mind, keeps lease for Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center (ocregister.com) — San Juan Capistrano remains one of just four cities in Orange County with a household hazardous waste collection site, alongside Irvine, Anaheim and Huntington Beach. After public pushback, Irvine’s center will stay open through at least the end of 2026, helping ensure continued countywide access for safely dropping off items like paint, batteries and other toxic materials.
