San Marino High School Timothy Wong and his team's vision is to promote lifelong financial well-being and resilience among youth.

FLAP Founder, Timothy Wong, Invites Community to "Egg"ducational Easter Event at The Goddess Mercado located at East Los Angeles Civic Center.

Timothy Wong, a junior at San Mario High School is the visionary behind the Financial Literacy Action Program (FLAP), invites families and friends to join in the festivities at the upcoming "Egg"ducational Easter Event on April 13th at The Goddess Mercado Community Entrepreneurship/Art Fairs located at East L.A. Civic Center from 12 PM to 3 PM.

Inspired by his own journey of financial awakening during his sophomore year in San Marino High School, recognizing the prevalent spending habits among peers post pandemic, Timothy identified a pressing need for financial education, especially among youth who may not yet have a steady income or allowance. The realization that daily indulgences, such as frequent visits to coffee shops or pizza joints, could accumulate significant costs over time spurred the creation of FLAP.

Timothy understands the importance of blending fun with education. As a young entrepreneur mindset, Timothy noticed common spending habits among his peers and realized the need for early financial literacy education. With this in mind, he founded FLAP, a program dedicated to equipping young students with essential money management skills. Now, Timothy teamed up with Vivian Chan, Founder of American Cancer Society's "LoveNotes Around The World" , and Deanna Diaz, Founder of The Goddess Mercado, joining forces to extend his passion for education beyond finance to the realm of Easter celebrations.

The event promises an egg-stravaganza of activities suitable for the entire family. From creative crafts to classic Easter races, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Participants can unleash their creativity with Easter-themed arts and crafts activities, showcasing their artistic talents while getting into the festive spirit. For those seeking a bit of friendly competition, the event offers egg-citing races including lively potato sack racing and thrilling spoon egg races.
