Howie's Ranch Market Broken Into Overnight, No Major Losses

The local grocery store in neighboring San Gabriel had its front glass door shattered in an attempted burglary that occurred on July 10.

Howie's Ranch Market, in neighboring San Gabriel, was broken into last week overnight but no items of significant value were taken.

The break-in happened between 2:40 and 3 a.m. on July 10 after the store's glass front door was shattered, according to Sgt. Ann Devane of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Temple City station.

Some small items in the store's back office were vandalized but no cash was stolen, according to Devane.  A $200 bottle of champagne was taken from the store but found out in the parking lot after the crime, she added.

The market, at 6580 N. San Gabriel Boulevard is just south over the town's boundary with San Marino and is a close-by grocery option for many in the Eastside of town.
