4 Found Dead In San Mateo Home: Police
Police said the bodies of a man, woman and two children were discovered during a welfare check Monday morning.

SAN MATEO, CA — Officers performing a welfare check Monday morning found the bodies of four people, including two children, inside a home in San Mateo, according to police.
In an update shared Monday afternoon, police said a man, woman and two children were discovered with "obvious signs of death" inside a house on Alameda de las Pulgas in San Mateo's Sugarloaf neighborhood. Officials did not elaborate on how they died.
Police said preliminary information suggested the deaths were an isolated incident with no danger to the broader public.

The death investigation drew a large police response to the scene Monday and portions of Alameda de la Pulgas remained closed into the afternoon. Police asked people to continue avoiding the area until investigators cleared the scene.
