Officers said they responded immediately and tried to determine whether the police academy was in session and if the report was about a training exercise.

The academy was not in session, but officers said they found several law enforcement agencies were conducting a training exercise with the CSM Emergency Medical Technician Program and had not properly notified the SMPD.
