CuriOdyssey Science Playground & Zoo Opens News Outdoor Exhibit: Nature Story Loop
New Outdoor Exhibit Is Part of CuriOdyssey's Environmental Science Learning Program
CuriOdyssey Science Playground & Zoo is pleased to announce the opening of their newest outdoor exhibit, Nature Story Loop, a unique interactive exhibit that connects visitors with nature through storytelling and outdoor spaces. The new exhibit is part of the nonprofit’s conservation science program that aims to cultivate empathy for nature and interest in conservation science through wildlife encounters, research partnerships, inspiring environmental justice stories, and participatory community science opportunities. Nature Story Loop opened July 13 and CuriOdyssey is now open seven days a week from 10 AM to 5 PM. For more information, visit www.curiodyssey.org
Designed by CuriOdyssey’s Director of Animal Health and Conservation, Kate Sulzner, in collaboration with staff, the Nature Story Loop centers around a storybook path and interactive outdoor spaces and gardens, where children can engage in uncurated play and nature exploration.
Visitors will take an adventure around CuriOdyssey’s sprawling property where key environmental science topics will be highlighted throughout a story trail. Conservation stories will be told through beautifully illustrated signs positioned at each stop. Stories are image-rich and easy to read, with text and audio available in English and Spanish, accessed through a QR code on each sign.
The Nature Story Loop will be a permanent exhibit at CuriOdyssey, where interactive nature spaces will be unveiled gradually over the next two years. At the Story Loop’s launch, visitors will be able to enjoy the storybook path and experience the first of the planned interactive spaces, the Environmental Education Garden. The garden centers around themes of biodiversity, environmental justice, soil health, and climate resilience, while offering a great opportunity for children and caretakers to indulge their green thumbs and cultivate a love of native plants and pollinators.

Other future zones along the trail will offer an escape from indoor spaces and screens, and provide green spaces where kids and caretakers can engage their senses in nature exploration and play.
“Conservation science education has always been a huge part of CuriOdyssey’s mission. As an environmental learning center for kids and the community, we strive to create connections for visitors to the natural world, and to inspire future generations of thinkers and doers to help heal our planet.” said Sulzner.
The Nature Story Loop exhibit will be completed in two phases:
