Driver Mad About High Beams Rams Car In San Mateo: Police
Police allege a Kentucky man upset about the "brightness and potential radiation" of another driver's headlights rammed his car repeatedly.
SAN MATEO, CA — An out-of-state driver could face felony charges after San Mateo authorities allege he rammed a car several times after becoming angry over high beams.
According to the San Mateo Police Department, officers were on their way to a hit-and-run call at Pacific Boulevard and Laurie Meadows Drive when they were notified about a recent pursuit by officers in Belmont.
The Belmont officers said the driver, a possible suspect in the hit-and-run, finally yielded to them on 43rd Avenue in San Mateo.

San Mateo officers met with the suspect, who police identified as Frank Falcone, 62, of Kentucky. Police said Falcone told officers he was driving northbound on Pacific Boulevard when he saw a car driving south with its high beams activated.
Investigators allege Falcone became upset "because of the brightness and potential radiation" from the lights and decided to ram the oncoming vehicle, then rammed it again after the driver stopped. The victim told police he was hit at least three times.

Police said Falone told officers he fled Belmont police "based on the fact people impersonate cops."
He was arrested and booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility on suspicion of "assault with force likely to produce great bodily harm" and leaving the scene of an accident — both potential felonies. According to jail records, he was scheduled to appear in court Monday afternoon.
