Flooding Causes Road Closure In San Mateo: Police
Police said due to the heavy rain several areas were experiencing flooding.
SAN MATEO, CA — Police said they shut down a road Monday in San Mateo due to flooding caused by heavy rain.
At 5:05 a.m. on Monday, the San Mateo Police Department sent out an alert stating eastbound and westbound of 42nd Avenue at S. El Camino Real had been reopened after flooding caused police to close that intersection early Monday morning.
Police said due to the heavy rain multiple areas were experiencing different degrees of flooding and there could be more potential road closures.

"We urge community members to use caution, follow posted detours, and avoid driving or walking through flooded roadways. Standing water can be deceiving and may be deeper than it appears," police said.
