The 5-month old puppy, named Roscoe, wandered away from its home in the 1100 block of Clovelly Lane sometime between 1 and 2 p.m. Sunday, according to police.

A witness saw two young girls attempting to leave the area with the dog a short time later. When questioned, they claimed they were the dog's owners and then left the area on foot with him, according to the witness.

Roscoe is described as a white bulldog puppy with recent neutering scars and surgery scars on the top of his head, police said.

The girls were described as being white with long blond hair. One was around 8 years old and the other was around 14, police said.
