Get into Muir Woods and Other National Parks Free this Saturday
For National Get Outdoors Day this Saturday, June 9, entrance to many national parks such as Muir Woods and the Golden Gate National Recreational Area is free.
A visit to Muir Woods National Monument or any other national park will be free this Saturday as part of National Get Outdoors Day, according to park officials.
The fifth annual version of the celebration is an effort to encourage healthy outdoor activities at sites across the country.
Muir Woods National Monument, the famous redwood forest in Marin County, usually costs $7 for an adult to enter for the day but will allow visitors for free Saturday for the celebration.

"Outdoor physical activity is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle and the Golden Gate National Parks is a great place to get out and enjoy so many different activities," Golden Gate National Recreation Area General Superintendent Frank Dean said in a statement.
