Goose Causes Power Outages to Hundreds in San Mateo

Find out why more than 1,000 San Mateo residents lost power Thursday morning.

 

Power has been restored to all customers affected by an outage caused by a goose flying into power lines in San Mateo Thursday morning, a PG&E spokeswoman said.

The outage was first reported at 4:25 a.m., impacting 1,463 customers living on El Camino Real, East Hillsdale Boulevard and Mclellan Avenue, spokeswoman Jana Morris said.

By 5:35 a.m., about 830 affected customers had their power restored.

All customers' power was restored by 6:05 a.m., she said.
