Housing Discussion Series Kicks Off In San Mateo

SAN MATEO, CA — San Mateo residents are invited to participate in a series of community discussions about housing beginning Wednesday.

The city is inviting feedback as it plans for the next Housing Element, which begins in 2023.

Discussions will center around why housing prices are so high in the area and how San Mateo can create more affordable housing.

The topic schedule is as follows. The meetings will be held on Wednesdays at 6 p.m.:

• 10/13 Why Affordability Matters
• 10/27 Housing and Racial Equity
• 11/10 Housing in a Climate of Change
• 12/1 Putting it All Together for a Better Future
