Join San Mateo Police at Whole Foods Friday

It's not unusual to see San Mateo police at Whole Foods, especially since the Police Department is just across the street from the gourmet grocery story, but on Friday customers will know they are helping the city's law enforcement.

On Friday, Whole Foods will donate 5 percent of each purchase to the San Mateo Police Activities Youth League Development Programs, aimed to help the needy and at-risk youth.

Additionally, if you "LIKE" Whole Foods Market San Mateo on Facebook, they will donate an extra dollar for each “Like” to the Police Activities League.

Chief Susan Manheimer praised Whole Foods Foundation for their support of the San Mateo Police Activities League.

"Our kids face challenges and make important choices daily. These critical funds will contribute directly to our programs designed to keep our kids on track and 'Build the Bond between Cops and Kids; in need of mentoring and positive youth activities," she said.
